De Schutter, along with colleagues, created the award-winning documentary ‘Going Deep for Vancouver‘, and founded the online platform Extopsporter.nl.
The topics she usually focuses on during her speaking engagements as a motivational speaker include how to pivot “from setback to success“, drawing on her career and life experiences as a farmer’s daughter from the Netherlands and as a former elite athlete who traveled the world, authored two books, and discovered “victory in defeat”.
This inspired her second book, ‘The Secret Balance of Champions’, which received the prestigious Diamond d’Honneur from ‘Federation Internationale Cinema Television Sportifs’, recognized by the International Olympic Committee, in Milan in 2021.
As a sports journalist, De Schutter has contributed to the largest speed skating news platform, Schaatsen.nl, as well as other sports-based entities. Her work focuses on telling stories that can help shape a better world. Whether through film, writing or on stage, it’s a passion she carries with her every day.
